High Batts is a private nature reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
Established in 1973, the Reserve is operated by the Charity Trustees of the High Batts Nature Reserve. The Reserve is actively managed to optimise its biodiversity and conserve habitats and species, and in line with a funding arrangement with Natural England.
There is no public access to the Reserve and no public rights of way. Group visits for those interested in natural history or related subjects can be arranged, as can school and other educational visits. There are more details on the Access page or you can contact us to discuss your needs.
Members have right of access to the Reserve as detailed in the Conditions of Membership. Membership of the Reserve is open to individuals by making formal application and paying the annual subscription and you can find details in the section “How To Join”.
